1502 Candle Co. Has Partnered with the National Forest Foundation

Back in March, we were excited to announce that 1502 Candle Co. had joined 1% for the Planet®. Now, we have partnered with the National Forest Foundation, a nonprofit that is dedicated to increasing the appreciation and protection of our vast, but threatened, national forests and grasslands. As Californians, we feel this is a particularly poignant time to turn our attention to ways we can protect our natural home and minimize disasters like destructive wildfires. What Is the National Forest Foundation?

The National Forest Foundation’s mission is simple: “Bring people together to restore and enhance our National Forests and Grasslands.”

Chartered by Congress and partnered with the U.S. Forest Service, the nonprofit works with thousands of people across the U.S. It strives to empower and connect communities, providing the “tools, knowledge, and funding [they need] to become active and devoted stewards of this incredible public estate” – all 193 million acres of the National Forest System.

How Does It Align with Our Goals?

At 1502 Candle Co., creating products using sustainable materials and environmentally friendly practices has always been at the forefront of what we do. Our apothecary jar candles, for example, continue to feature all-natural biodegradable soy wax, recyclable glass and a branded composite natural cork topper and our fragrances are always inspired by nature.

As avid hikers, campers, and general outdoor enthusiasts, we know that large corporations and government entities whose values don’t always align with our own impact our lives–and our customers’ lives–every day. Supporting the National Forest Foundation offers a tangible way for us to make small but consistent donations to a cause we believe in: conserving and celebrating the beautiful outdoor spaces that enrich our quality of life. 

What Can You Do to Help?

The magic of our arrangement with 1% for the Planet means that by simply purchasing our candles, diffusers, and fragrance mists, a portion of each sale will go towards this incredible cause. By becoming a member business, 1% of 1502 Candle Co.’s annual profits will be donated to our partners. We think it’s just one more reason to shop mindfully.
