Kicking Off the New Year with Forest Restoration

For those of you who have been following 1502 Candle Co.’s recent posts, you know that we joined 1% for the Planet last March. This has allowed us to directly support the National Forest Foundation (NFF), spurring the change that we know our customers feel so passionately about. Now, to kick off the New Year, we’re excited to show you what these important donations look like in action…

Where Did Your Money Go?

If you’re not familiar with 1% for the Planet’s model, it’s incredibly simple: 1% of every dollar you spend at 1502 Candle Co. goes towards our nonprofit partners. In 2019, your support allowed us to donate over $1,000 to the movement. Of this total, $500 went towards the NFF, which used the funds to plant a tree for every dollar. The remainder made up monetary and “in-kind” donations, which go towards goods and services such as software and equipment, to 1% for the Planet.

A Timely Cause

In recent years, wildfires have increased significantly in severity, resulting in the loss of trees and vegetation.

Last year, we contributed $500 directly to the National Forest Foundation, which planted a tree for every $1. 

For every dollar donated to the NFF, one tree will be planted in a National Forest in need of reforestation. These trees will contribute to forest resiliency and the overall health and vitality of our National Forests and Grasslands–all 193 million acres of these important public lands.
